Milan Fashion Week Beauty Recap #2

The Milan shows have wrapped! Here’s a look at some of the standout looks. Please share your favorites in the comments!

Missoni: It’s not often that you see matte hair, but that’s what the look was at Missoni. I’m still all about a healthy shine, but the bold lip that MAC created (a mix of three lip shades: orange, pink, and white), combined with the strong brows distracted from the hair’s lack of shine.

Emilio Pucci: From Gucci to Prada, countless designers were inspired by the Far East this season. I love the artful simplicity that this kind of inspiration entails. For Pucci, the hair was parted in the center and the sides were pulled back behind the ears and secured with a large pin. I could see this style working on countless women and it’s perfect for day-to-night.

Jil Sander: Absolutely loved the beauty look at Jil Sander. The idea was to great a glowing complexion – I mean who doesn’t wake up every morning wanting that? – and bright eyes. Brown is such an easy, but high-impact alternative to black and here a light shade was used from the eyelids to the eyebrows. Lips were kept natural with a mix of a cream lip shade and foundation (this my personal new thing…foundation on lips…it looks great and is surprsingly non sticky). No mascara was used, which is the only thing I would change were I to do this on myself.

Fendi: How crazy is this look! What’s even crazier is that the three colored strips glued on the bottom of the models’ eyes were cut from Fendi neoprene bathing suits! I am so in awe of the creativity…
