What better way to celebrate ten years of Alber Elbaz’s fantastic and feminine, gutsy and girly, inventive and iridescent vision at Lanvin than with a collection of clutches that is all that and more? On a selfish note, this anniversary couldn’t come at a better time – I’m in the market for some dazzling clutches, and these fit the bill and beyond. While the Happy bags are looking more content than ever, it’s the bedecked and festooned clutches that get me going. It’s charity season at the moment and holiday parties rapidly follow. I can’t imagine a richer way to welcome them than with the satin clutches, in lush Mai Tai goldenrod (on Net-a-Porter for $1,587) and dark-as-night-black (at Neiman Marcus for $1,995). Their glass appliqués and clear crystals are pure glitz and glamour – and that’s just what we need: a big, heaping dose of right about now. More casual snobs will appreciate the strass-embellished Heart clutch (at Lanvin for $780), a shimmering flat pouch that will get your own heart pumping. I propose a toast to another ten fabulous years!
