I’m having a serious watch moment! At the start of the month, Burberry launched their first automatic watch, the Britain. Being touted as the product of a union between the company’s heritage and modern style, the collection was inspired by the brand’s classic trenches (also, notably the inspiration for Burberry Beauty), specifically their color palette. They are distinguished by the combination of elegant British design and quality Swiss craftsmanship. Catering to both men and women, the watch is available in a dozen styles. Leather straps dominate the collection, but steel chain link bracelets are available, as well. For the ladies, my favorite is the alligator strap with the sapphire-decorated face ($3,995). In such a toned-down, utilitarian line, I head straight for the showstopper! The primary purpose of a watch is function, but when you can also get fashion, why wouldn’t you? Best of all, for luxury watches, the prices are very reasonable (assuming they keep good time, unlike my Cartier!).
