A single shade is taking over Fall 2012, and no, it’s not oxblood (although deep, dark red places a very close second). Black is back, in every form. If the runways were any indication – and they always are – expect black leather, velvet, satin, and silk to abound come September. I say: if you’re going to wear it, then really wear it. I like a scent that matches my mood, and as always, Chanel is up on the times. Their latest update of Coco eau de parfum is set to hit stores next week, and noir is the word. A reinvention of the oriental-inspired original, the new scent is at once soft and hard, much like a woman who loves to wear black herself. It starts off with grapefruit and bergamot, conceived to bring out rose and jasmine, then dark richness sets in thanks to patchouli and sandalwood. And if you can don it with a new Boy Chanel shoulder bag, then more power to you!
Available for pre-order at Chanel for $98 (receive it on August 17th, when it debuts).
