A little joie de vivre is the best friend to any little clutch. I’ll be the first to say that Matthew Williamson’s bags tend to be hit or miss – and this one is a big hit in a small package. Williamson works best when he gets a little kooky without going crazy, and all the lively elements of this box make for a positive kind of sensory overload.
It’s deluxe visual stimulation: a double-sided print, irreverent and funky, that I can’t peel my eyes away from, it fools you into thinking you’re looking at more than patterned silk; amethyst suede lining brings in the luxe; and gunmetal hardware, optional strap included, shows a sense of restraint. Elements of floral, Aztec, mosaic, and exotic themes come together for a clutch with a whole lot of print and even more personality. The pattern is the lack of pattern! On Net-a-Porter
