Here’s something you don’t see everyday: a totally utilitarian bag from Lanvin. And I’m not so sure that “100% functional” is a look I’m loving on the usually frisky, whimsical brand. If it’s a wholehearted workbag you need, this would be a step up from an old-fashioned briefcase, but as an everyday bag, I find this too convertible shoulder square. In more ways than one.
It’s not that I don’t appreciate the convenient niceties. There’s definitely something to be said for exterior pockets, an optional long strap, that easy messenger style, and multiple interior compartments. But a fashion bag? Not even close. I usually skip a beat when I see the combo of black and blue; however, softly contrasting colors aren’t enough to make this simple style anything but plain and simple. It’s all about perspective. For me, this is a big yawn, though if you’re a lawyer, this could be the most exciting thing since Manolo kitten heels. On Net-a-Porter for $1,450.
I won’t mind getting my hands on this as you have said it is better than the popular old-fashioned briefcase we normally use.
Looks like it would be great for traveling as a carry-on and still be fashionable.
Funny, you gave the same exact bag a pretty good review just one month earlier! Did you not notice it was the same exact bag, just in a different color, and going by another name? Either way it’s actually a great, unpretentious bag if you tuck the top handle in.
