I’m a sucker for luxe packaging and Kat Burki has mastered it. Much like more widely known brands like Tom Ford and Chanel, Kat Burki opts for clean and simple packaging that just looks expensive (fittingly, like Tom Ford and Chanel, Burki’s products don’t come cheap…). I discovered the brand last year thanks to my friend Jane Lerman who started working with Burki and was immediately drawn to Burki’s astrology-inspired candles. More recently I was able to try out a few of her Body Lotions ($38), and while for the most part a body lotion is a body lotion unless it’s specifically formulated to be double-duty, this one stands out (aside from the packaging), because of its unique selection of scents: Almond & Fig Body, White Orchid & Poppy, Mandarin Black Tea, Honeysuckle & Linden Blossom, Ginger Milk & Juniper, Berry Lilac & Rosemary, Tahitian Vanilla & Orange Blossom, and Patchouli & Moss. I loved Almond & Fig, but I love even more having a lotion on my vanity that not only looks this chic, but is a brand that not everyone and their mother has in their bathroom.
