Oh, the fun you can have with a clutch! The non-committal, irreverent, sometimes all-out kooky fun. Lately, Fendi is sure showing they know a thing or two about a good-time bag. An exuberant cocktail of silver leather, multicolor mesh and lame petal designs, studded rose-gold trim, and pink mink sounds like a trashy mix. But on the contrary! There’s a whole lot of action going on, but this is a clutch that you can happily work around.
Its soft, muted colors actually make this less challenging to style than you would expect. My current go-to dinner outfit, consisting of nice jeans (DL1961 x Snob Essentials collection, of course) and a solid blouse, is just asking for a major clutch like this to set it all off. But I wouldn’t carry it as a shoulder bag, though it comes with a silver strap. Somehow when you sling it over you, the confection starts to look too over-the-top. At Bergdorf Goodman for $2,020.
Pair with: Keep it simple and a little louche with T by Alexander Wang’s paneled silk shirt, just slightly sheer so the immense texture of your clutch is guaranteed to take center stage (but how could it not?!). On Net-a-Porter
