A Cavalli creation that is somewhat minimal? I never thought I’d see the day! Who would have imagined the most surprising twist the designer could perform was to tone it down? There’s not a colorful animal print to be found. Well, until you open it up and peek at the leopard-spotted lining, but that makes for a frivolous touch that won’t get in the way. No, this isn’t a bag for a wallflower who prefers to fade into the background. The exact opposite!
With searing orange taking center stage, Roberto Cavalli has wisely left the python alone, so you can appreciate the skin in all its bright glory. All it takes is his unique trademark closure, for just a dollop of flamboyance, to completely intrigue the senses.
Beyond gorgeous, I love the color; what I don’t love is the price. I know python doesn’t come for free (far from it), but this hot summer clutch is a longtime investment. I’ve got ambition; I’m just not sure I have the gumption to take the plunge. On Net-a-Porter for $4,585.
Pair with: Bring unexpectedly geometric polish to a balmy day with Kenzo’s silk-jersey pullover. The brand is back in a big way, and this crewneck is almost as eye-catching as your clutch. At Barneys New York for $835.
What a fabulous color!
I just love the color!
