Frugal Snob: Simply Vera Vera Wang Cosmetic Collection

There are very few designers that have branched out as much as Vera Wang has across the price spectrum — even fewer that have done so successfully. As much as I love her high-end line (even her black wedding dress moment!), I can’t deny that Wang’s David’s Bridal line is killer – so killer in fact that I tried, unsuccessfully, to track down this dress in my size just to wear for fun! Then there’s her lavender label, her many products for Kohl’s, her home range, and now she’s getting into beauty with the Simply Vera Vera Wang Cosmetics Collection . Sold exclusively at Kohl’s everything in the line, which just launched this month, is priced at between $16.50 and $39.50. Better yet, the 16 piece collection includes 74 shades and everything comes packaged with a super chic black outer layer and in a dark blue box…simple and elegant.

The line includes a Soothing Balm, Illuminating Concealer, fourteen Shadow Duos, and a Lash Enhancing Serum to boost lash length and volume. All the products were done in partnership with Estee Lauder, which explains how they were able to achieve the level of quality and it also explains my favorite products in the line – the lipsticks. As with Estee Lauder’s Pure Color lipsticks, the bottom of Wang’s lipsticks are clear so you can see the shade without having to open the cap. It’s also cool that many of the compacts have windows that let you see the colors inside…so convenient for us beauty product junkies!
