The decision has already been made: I’m not going to wearing neutral shoes at all this summer. With so many colorful beauties out there to keep my eyes happy and feet occupied, there’s just no need. Especially when sandals have both color and neutrality – like these Rupert Sanderson platforms.
The London designer is inspired by naturalistic materials, maintaining that “less is more.” In the case of these multi-texture platforms, less is definitely more, more, more! A jolt of bright paired with a distressed heel (this one is marked wood) is apparently the flavor of the week for me, but I can see myself all summer long with nothing but cheerful island-inspired sandals.
With ocean aqua-blue straps, zigzag stitching, and a strip of orange textile, this mix has a definite Caribbean feel – I might need to pick these up for my spring break trip to Cancun! On Ssense for $800.
Pair with: It might seem like a daring amount of color, but these shoes are carefree enough to wear with Moschino Cheap and Chic’s fuchsia dress. The lace embellishments scream “vacation.” On Net-a-Porter for $850.
