Snakes slithered around the bodice, eagles invaded the waist and collarbone, and cross pendants stamped the midsection at Alber Elbaz’s Spring show for Lanvin. Yet for all the symbols of strength (which Alber prefers to power, since it can’t be bought), his take on spring is fluid and feminine. Yes, the man has a way of taking bold elements in heaps and orchestrating them in harmony.
Another example: this shoulder bag. Lizard-effect leather is brilliant next to suede. Combine it with whipstitched trim, golden hardware, a coin-embellished chain-strap, and contrasting leather shoulder pad, and it all adds up to perfection in my book. Full-on chain-straps are too much for me to deal with; offset with a dual-toned leather pad and I’m on the chain gang. It also adds up to a total LA look – polished with definite bohemian vibe. Perfect for this Californa girl!
Wear it casually with an eclectic outfit (maxi skirt, flat sandals) or go all-out GCB-style (if you haven’t been watching, you must remedy that, STAT!) and layer on the accessories. On Net-a-Porter for $2,445.
Pair with: You can come on strong or go easy depending on your choice of shiny shoe. Bottega Veneta’s karung ($820), Givenchy’s double-time metallic ($880), Yves Saint Laurent’s cap-toe cocktail ($1,295), Ancient Greek Sandal’s winged gladiator ($245), and KORS Michael Kors’ frugal find ($275) will all compliment Alber’s creation.
I thinks this bag is a little unusual
Super cool shoulder bags.
