Estee Lauder is a perennial go-to for makeup and skincare (not that I needed confirmation, but if Tom Ford turns to them for help with his beauty range, you know they’re the best among the giants!), but I’ve never looked to them for fragrances. I was given a sample of Bronze Goddess Capri Eau Fraiche ($57 for 3.4oz) and I had it laying on my desk for DAYS (maybe even weeks…), before I smelled it because I wasn’t expecting anything that I would want to wear let alone write about…boy was I surprised!
I’ve been wearing the scent on and off for the last month and absolutely love it. It’s a very sweet scent. If you’re familiar with Hermessence Ambre Narguile, it’s that level of super high sweetness, but unlike Ambre which I could imagine a man wearing, Capri is notably more feminine. It’s definitely an exotic scent and a good break from the florals I’ve been into lately. The limited edition fragrance has notes of cassis, mandarin, jamin, muguet, peony, vanilla, amberwood, patchouli, and musk. Stock-up because it won’t be around for long!
I’m a big fan of Estee Lauder products. This scent sounds like one that I’d enjoy – I love mandarin, vanilla, and amberwood. Thanks for the recommendation; I’ll be sure to try this soon and stock up for the future if it smells nice on me.
