As we age, our hormones inevitably change, and these changes have many effects on our bodies. Since our skin is the largest organ, it shows the most amount of unwelcomed changes. Murad has created a line specifically for hormonal aging. Whether it’s wrinkles, dark spots, lack of luster, or even hormone-induced acne, this comprehensive line is designed to tackle all of these problems. It has everything from cleanser to serums, and day and night moisturizers; but the three products I use and love the most are the cleanser, age serum, and day moisturizer with SPF. Fortunately for me, after raving about the Pomegranate Exfoliating Mask that I purchased, Murad sent me samples of this Resurgence Anti-Aging Line to try.
The light consistency of the Renewing Cleansing Cream ($35) may deceive you of its high potency – this foaming cleanser cleans deeply. And its refreshing, subtle scent reminds me of Japanese melon candy. This product sets the base for the others to do most of the work.
The Age-Diffusing Serum ($72) decreases the appearance of wrinkles and inhibits collagen breakdown to keep that youthful firmness. The texture is creamy (most serums I’ve used are liquid or gel-like) and absorbs immediately, so you can go to the next step right away.
I love that the Sheer Lustre Day Moisturizer ($68) comes with SPF15. Any anti-aging regimen must also protect you from the sun. Not only does it exfoliate and hydrate your skin, it gives you that much needed shield from harmful rays.
I’ve been particularly concerned about the state of my neck lately. This is the one area not even your favorite plastic surgeon can do much about, so you MUST take extra care of it. Mine is starting to show signs of compromised elastic integrity. When I touch it, it has a looseness that I’ve never seen, and it is scaring the heck out of me! So I am paying extra attention to my neck – especially with the Age-Diffusing Serum. To my surprise and delight, after one and a half weeks of using these products, there is noticeable improvement. I will not accept having a turkey neck as my reality (at least not for another 20 years!). And don’t forget about sunscreen for your neck – I always do forget, even as though I slather it on my face and my neck is literally an inch away.
There’s always a chance to fight back existing damage, but there is a limit. So the sooner you start the reversing process the better. As for you young twenty-soemthings, I congratulate you for having the foresight to start the prevention NOW. May you live to never see the inside of a plastic surgeon’s office!
Oooo… this really worked on your neck? Because I’m in the same boat you are!
