Forget the winter white of NYC and the bright prints of London, it’s all about a dark romance in Milan (at least for many of the shows so far…). Here’s a look at some of the most notable beauty looks that have been complementing Milan’s striking fashions.
Gucci: The bleached brow is back and here it’s paired with a dark bordeaux lipstick and gloss. Between the brow/lip contrast and the long center-parted wavy hair (with two front twisted sections that were clipped together), there was no doubt that Giannini’s dark romance theme came through loud and clear.
Alberta Ferretti: Ferretti’s harder edged collection was a departure this season (though she managed to pull it off faultlessly, in my opinion, by mixing hard and soft while all the while staying true to her ethereal aesthetic). To complement her dark collection models were coiffed with a slicked-back middle-parted, low chignon created by hair maestro Guido Palau and makeup, created by Diane Kendal, was kept light, but strong with clean skin and an emphasis on sculpted, full brows.
Max Mara: Hair was pulled back into two sculpted, braided chignons (a number of models wore hats), and makeup was kept understated, which was perfect for keeping the focus on those to DIE for coats…can one ever have too many camel coats? I think not:)
Fendi: Oh Karl…always something new! Orlando Pita has been saying for weeks that the headband will be making a comeback and here it is again with twisted hair acting as the headband. Wearable for real life? No, but this is one of those styles that makes backstage beauty so exciting.
