Who says twins can’t be totally different heights? One (relatively) towers at about 4.3”, while the other is a low flat with high style. I’m loving how much designers are currently loving flats! These have a coordinating feel of faux python (this vegan loves to use faux python in her designs) and patent nude pleather – a classy-cool combo. Stella McCartney also displays her savvy way with shoes of varying heights; python works best on the heel of the sexy style ($845, for pre-order with delivery in January), while it jazzes up the front-band of the flat ($615). And a restrained splash of orange to peek around the sole is as brilliant as the rest of the design.
Buy these sisters and keep them together as a power duo. Carry the flats in your bag, and switch them out when your soles get sore – people won’t even notice! Unless of course, you have an extra-short date, who always notices changes in height (but then he’ll be happy you dropped a few inches, so this change-up is a win-win). Available at Barneys New York.
Pair with: Opt for a chic bag with room for a spare pair of shoes and more. Derek Lam’s latest, the Kyra hobo, is as practical as a shoulder bag can be – and equally stylish.
