My trip to Italy revived my appreciation for Prada. But, seriously, this new tweed-print collection is really good (even if Kara Ross kind of did the same thing two seasons ago and McQueen did it last season). Regardless, Prada’s gotten their groove back for spring, and I’m liking the details they’ve brought to the table.
Neutral tweed with satin trim (and an inviting pink satin interior) is ladylike, especially in this classic frame-top shape. Inject a silver monkey as the closure, and you’ve got a big wink of humor – very necessary if you’re going the prim route, or else you’ll end up looking just plain stiff ($1,350).
The chain-strap shoulder bag falls more into the autumn category, but save it for evenings out. Something like this is an ideal contrast for spring’s bright colors. And the chunky Plexiglass chain serves up the funk a simplistic bag like this needs ($1,350).
Sure, the tote is just another Prada tote – thankfully, sketch-like pattern offers just enough of shake-up to break up the hard angularity. It just goes to show a strong print can save the day ($1,420).
