Look who’s got a whole new attitude. Carlos Falchi just kicked it up a notch by springing for a younger shape. This isn’t his typical tote for the grown-up errand-runner. Instead, this jaunty little shoulder bag, a flap style with twin straps finishing it off, is reminiscent of the PS1. But not overtly so – just enough to give Falchi some much-appreciated schoolgirl charm.
I’m grateful for the pouch pocket under the flap (details like that mean some thought actually went into the bag). Adding to the sense of youth: a periwinkle surprise, a la the suede lining. But dare I say it? As big a sucker for snake as I am, the natural python pattern is a bit too busy for me, strictly because it’s in stark black and white (some gray graduation would soften the look). Overall, Carlos Falchi is showing a desirable new side with a nice daily option: a shoulder bag with a dash of sass. At Saks Fifth Avenue for $1,795.
Pair with: Modernize the vaguely academic look with a pair of ultra-wide trousers. Alice + Olivia’s poppy-red linen will put you in full bloom.
On ShopBop for $253.
Loving this bag! The more I see of snakeskin bags the more I love them!
Sexy snakeskin bag, Falchi is a great designer.
