Whoa there! Jimmy Choo has gone shamelessly earth-goddess with these wild woven sandals. I’m not sure if they are Pocahontas-meets-young Stevie Nicks or if this be-feathered concoction should rightfully be put on the endangered species list. With a blend of woven suede, leather, and elaphe, they take the tribal theme to the next level (the basement level); the colorful dangling feather charm, one for each foot, puts them over the edge into costume – or is it Ke$ha? – territory. But that delicate whipstiching all around the suede is pretty amazing, plus the simple, shiny stiletto heel takes them down a (minor) notch. And I’m encouraged to know that, courtesy of a lobster clasp, the feathers are easily detachable. Maybe it’s the overdone gladiator look that I’m having an issue with. Not to mention the price that’s about as outrageous as hot pink feathers. Regardless of how I feel about these in the real world, I am finding myself envisioning an haute couture Native American costume for Halloween. What say you: bohemian rhapsody or native no-no?
