I have downsized my bags to lightweight and downright dainty these days, but I’ll certainly find occasion for this Lulu oversized carryall. L’Wren Scott believes bags should be comfortable, number one, but the lady clearly has an eye for luxury. Luxe matte python on an overall minimalist shape – this is big done right. And with an oversized pocket as the secondary focus, she just reinforces what we already know: skin gets top billing, of course!
Second, in L’Wren’s world comes attention to useful detail. Everything is so pared down: the hardware is matte so no unnecessary flash, but that doesn’t mean it goes without notice; the lock on the exterior flap pouch is smart and sophisticated; and the bag itself zips all the way down for fast, easy access. The roomy outer pocket is essential for any functioning travel bag – you cannot be rummaging at every checkpoint for your ID and boarding pass, not to mention phone – but this pocket is unique in that it’s removable and becomes a travel wallet: how smart is that?! Incredible! I want it just for that one feature.
Obviously, this weekender is made by a girl who knows how to travel the right way (former model and Mick Jagger’s girlfriend? I would imagine she does) and knows exactly what she needs! But now, the tough part…$6,900 might kill the travel budget. But I’m willing to compromise and do stay-cations! At Barneys New York for $6,900.
