Most makeup artists I’ve spoken to say that you only need face primer and that you can use that one primer on your skin, lips, eyes, etc. For a long time I had been using a separate primer for each, but after having condensed them into one ( thanks to Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer SPF 15), I can attest to the fact that you really do only need one for your entire face. That said, during Fashion Week I was given a “survival kit” and it included Korres Quercetin & Oak Antiageing Eye Primer ($21). Tempted by its lip gloss-like packaging I tried it. While it may be redundant to have both a face and an eye primer, this one is way more convenient than the Hourglass one which requires getting formula on your finger tips to apply it. Korres’ comes with a wand which you can just swipe over your lids. Korres says that their primer also minimizes fine lines and wrinkles – can’t attest to that (luckily I don’t have any on my lids and that’s the only place I used it, but I like that it works double-duty as a concealer). The formula dries quickly, applies smoothly, and ensures a long-lasting eye color. Plus it’s compact and spill proof, so it’s great for travel!
