With a total of 171 crystals, the “D:Light” by Swarovski hardly looks like much of a watch. The idea behind this stainless steel watch is really cool: it looks like a sparkly silver cuff until you push a button, then the crystals light up to display the time. But the outcome isn’t that attractive – the concept of glowing numbers on your wrist is kinda cheesy and a bit Times Square. This is like a fancified digital Casio watch from the eighties, without the calculator and games. But something like this makes me wonder: do we want to go back to that decade’s gizmo timepieces?
As far as watches go, this does make sense for the crystal-innovative brand. I’m just not so sure if it makes sense for actual wear. The “D:Light” watch might be a good gift for the techno-geek in your life. After all, high-tech and stylish is a rare breed! Ahem….bloggers?! At Swarovski for $1,500.
