Pros: Thin and bountiful silk-chiffon overflows on this accordion-pleated skirt. A unique yet versatile gypsy-ish print. Preen is a cool label. Cons: The even more bountiful price. A dark denim yoke makes it look a little Sante Fe line-dancer circa 1992.
Or does it? So I’m kind of appreciating the fact that this is an unusual take on the gauzy maxi skirt we (happily) see all summer long. And I like the fact the form-fitting mini portion hugs the hips and enforces a cinched waistline and flattering shape. Maybe it’s just that the runway version, with coordinated blouse is a bit much – too matchy, too emphatically divided by a block of awkward denim. Bring it down to reality. Styled with a draped sheer top that hangs a little long not only breaks it up in a good way but enforces the bohemian flavor. I say wear this one with a strong irony quotient and a hot high-heeled ankle bootie. As in, don’t you dare slide on a pair of cowboy boots! On ShopBop for $2,565.
I like the skirt a lot. But I agree with you – I would not wear it with the shirt.
