Although I love Gwen Stefani, her L.A.M.B collection has never spoken to me personally – the Rastafari-themed color motifs, hyper clashing prints, and overt funkiness works when worn by the one-of-a-kind Gwen, but the overall label is often a bit too theatrical and teenager-geared. But she hit the mark for me with her “Evelyn” platform sandals. These basic asymmetrical, strappy shoes are all it took to make me think twice about her brand. Show me a high school sophomore who could rock these grown-up stilettos and I’ll show you a lady who is lying about her age!
Streamlined, sophisticated and even a little raunchy, they maintain the trademark Stefani chunkiness, but the covered platform, slim and stacked heel, and perfectly angled straps add a touch of class for a more mature look that still has streetwise attitude. Both the black and nude are as easy and versatile as a high heel gets, but I’d go with black for ultimate, year-round wearability – and a price that could suit a teenager’s budget. On ShopBop for $265.
