I am on an enduring quest for the perfect wedge and these Jimmy Choos basically fit the bill. To put it simply, I love, love, love these shoes. Let me count the ways..
With a criss-crossing strap across the toe and a sexy ankle strap, it’s flattering. An easy pitch on a tall wedge makes it comfortable and heightening. It’s easy to coordinate, as snake and sandy nude goes with absolutely everything. Overall, this shoe is effortlessly gorgeous. Even the price is right, so what negative can be said? It’s late in the season, and an espadrille should be on sale, not preorder!
Other than that, my only gripe concerning this near-perfect shoe is that I wish the wedge were done in leather. Anything but the super-summery espadrille style, to make this a multiple-season wear since it’s so versatile otherwise. Which is why I’m holding off: I went in to Jimmy Choo to try it on, had it on hold, looked at it again at Saks and still haven’t pulled the trigger. I’m going to sit tight for a fall release of the “Phoenix.” At Saks Fifth Avenue
Pair with: While we’re working with the espadrille, I’d wear this with another nearly impeccable number: Bottega Veneta‘s big, white, textural hobo. (Only problem? The fact that I’ve already hit my quota of white bags for the season!) Bottega Veneta Woven Perforated Shoulder Hobo, $3,900.
