Giuseppe Zanotti loves the contrast of nature and glamour; he has always been inclined to impart a snake, beetle, even fish bones into his sparkling stiletto design. Now he has taken it to a level of beauty and horror. This creepy-crawly scorpion is way too overt for me. But it’s also WAY hot! Nobody ever said fashion was for the faint of heart (just look at those pin-thin daggers we call “heels” that find ourselves constantly walking around on).
Those who relish in some shock value will love this conversation-piece shoe. Even if you don’t, you have to appreciate the ingenious design of using the insect’s legs as straps, complete with hook-like grasping claws. Straps that completely entwine the foot in all the sandal’s gory glory. Making the gunmetal legs so skeletal in appearance makes for an even higher impact.
