That is, if by studying botany you mean jetting off to an island vacation, which I keep getting struck with the urge to do lately. The good news is, now that I’ve spotted these sandals, I can just stay home and feel tropical. I’m a simple woman – I just need some pineapples, preferably infused with vodka, to go with them. These chunky yet oddly elegant platforms are super-fun and not very comfortable. But did I ever say the two go hand in hand or that these floral-explosive babies are practical work shoes? Not a chance; these are the polar opposite. A pure vacation shoe, through and through, and while I would love to wear these, I’m sure I only would once or twice. Even on sale, I question the value of such an unabashedly frivolous foot adornment. It’s really not necessary to have python (representing the stems, for that matter) to make them so pricey. For $400, I’d consider them. And I could still afford the trip to the exotic beach where I’d love to wear them! On Luisa Via Roma
Pair with: Besides a private beach and candlelit fresh-fish dinner in Bali? Oh, this pair of Larkspur & Hark earrings, in oxidized silver set with white topaz, to add the aqua to your flora – and really transport you to an island getaway. At Barneys New York for $1,800.
