Bumble and Bumble has a knack for coming out with unique and super-specific hair products, some kinder to your locks than others. Like Brilliantine, even explaining on the tube that it’s “hard to define,” which gives you soft, sexy bedhead tendrils. With all the fuss surrounding their new “(un)Dressing” crème, I had to give it a shot, even though I’ve never particularly yearned for second-day, matte-texture hair (my hair is thick enough as it is).
The label instructs you to apply sparingly through damp hair and build up the product in increments. I eased in cautiously, using no more than a small dollop altogether (maybe just a little more than the amount of toothpaste you’d put on a toothbrush). I wanted to like this product, I really did, but all it gave me was messier, almost gritty hair that was prone to tangling. The crème does increase volume, so it’s definitely better for softer and thinner heads of hair. And if you’re speeding full-force towards a grunge-look, this would definitely have a place at your vanity. Call me old-fashioned, but I guess my hair just likes to be dressed! At Bumble and Bumble for $26.
