Revlon Fantasy Lengths Self Adhesive Eyelashes

I bought these in a bind this weekend – Tina and I had a photoshoot and I forgot my lashes! I ran in to CVS and thought, “Perfect, self adhesive!”. I don’t make it a habit to wear false lashes but for a photoshoot, unless you were blessed with double rows of black lashes like Elizabeth Taylor (we lost a real life goddess), you must wear fakes to emphasis the eyes. The adhesive strip (as in, no need for glue, the strip is sticky) sounds like a great convenience but you do lose some control. I am a pro with lashes so I know how to put it on in seconds flat, I like the corners to have just a smidge more glue than the middle and I like the strip to be flat so it blends in without a noticeable ending. With this, the strip is so thick and black – which is meant to look like eyeliner, it does not blend in well at the ends (especially the inside corner). And the strip is super sticky so you have to be precise when getting it on, if you catch just one lash on it, you are in trouble. With regular glue, you have some time before it dries and sticks so you are able to move it slightly if you miss on the approach and landing. It comes with an additional adhesive strip so you can use it twice but you must add it to the first, uhh, just having one strip was thick enough. And my problem really was the long night, it starts to lose it’s adhesion and because the strip stays continuously sticky (it never dries like glue) it started to stick to the faces of those who gave me drunken bear hugs. It was a mess and needless to say, not reusable after that. Overall, I would use it again in a bind. It might not be a bad idea to keep a pair on hand because they’re cheap, but these are certainly not going to replace my Shu Uemura or Make Up Forever favorites. At CVS for $6.59.
