Edmundo Castillo Two-Tone Wedge Espadrille: Dress Up, Dress Down, and Wear It All Around

You know I can’t resist a well-conceived espadrille. And while we are seeing an abundance of strut-worthy spring styles as of late, Edmundo Castillo’s crisp white and tan version is particularly sleek and sophisticated. He understands that a shoe built around the concept of a rope sole – without innovation, espadrilles can get redundant – doesn’t have to look mundane or read boho-casual. Thanks to the elegantly curved platform (just over 4 inches) with bold nautical stripes and mix of dainty and broad straps, these wedges move flawlessly from casual to dressy (a khaki short, sundress, even a LBD would all work). And I appreciate the generous width of the higher strap to stay secure on long summer strolls (which I don’t do!). At Saks Fifth Avenue for $495.

Play up the bright white and tan rope combo and dress these up with Marc Jacobs Black Orchid Singapore Leather Clutch.
