At a recent presentation of its full breadth of offerings for 2011, Pomellato showed a playful yet decadent sub-collection called Five O’Clock. Comprised of five charms in the shape of five miniature teapots in silver and rose gold, each one is different and is meant to be worn either on a thin chain or added to a simple bracelet. While from afar they may look alike, a closer glance shows that each little teapot boasts a gem: Oriente, with a rounded shape; Fiore di Loto, shaped like the centre of a lotus flower; Roma, of
Renaissance inspiration with a fancy detail on the lid; Liberty, with an engraved peach-tree branch motif and Elizabeth, in a graceful Empire style. While they’re not cheap, they certainly are at a much more attainable price point than what Pomellato’s exquisite creations typically command. I love how whimsical the tea pots are; they look simplistic in their design but are luxe in the details.
Prices range: $ 1,000 – $1,100, available at Pomellato NYC: 741 Madison Ave, 212 879 2118.
