Julianne Moore dazzled Saturday night in this sapphire blue velvet strapless column gown by Tom Ford while attending the BAFTA Awards in London. With her red hair and pale complexion, Moore can wear color with aplomb–but she looked especially breathtaking in this jewel tone. The dress boasts a folded draped back that creates depth in an otherwise simple cut. I can’t remember the last time velvet looks so chic since Gwyneth Paltrow wore that red velvet Gucci pantsuit (also designed by Ford during his tenure there) to the VH1/Vogue Fashion Awards. Coupled with the slicked back hairdo and simple diamond bracelets, this dress is easily one of my best dressed of 2011. And we’re only in February!
