All out grunge was Joseph Altuzarra’s frame of mind for fall, the oversized parkas layered over light, wispy dresses reminiscent of the Steven Meisel aesthetic. Overall, the collection was well edited and polished; the tartan prints, a recurring trend thus far on the runways, were subtle in their cocoa and pinks, complemented by accessories that were decidedly in your face–full-on fur evening sandals anyone? The tweed skirts that boasted multi straps that sleekly cut a new silhouette across a woman’s lower half. But it was the series of finale gowns that stunned. Metallic silver cuts of georgette were intricately beaded, some infused with silk satin, making for a memorable moment.
