Having seen the McQueen pre-fall shoe collection, I’m happy to report that newly-installed creative head Sarah Burton’s designs beautifully capture the spirit of the late designer. Overall, the collection captures the whimsical yet decidedly dramatic aura that has always been the McQueen aesthetic. From the stacked platform of a beautiful buckled suede navy boot to a fantastically-shaped pink suede wedge with bow tie that’s sure to catch the eye of Daphne Guinness, the shoes haven’t lost any of their edge–but seem to be, for lack of a better word, softer in approach. One of my favorites in the collection is the black bejeweled T-strap stiletto; it’s almost teardrop-like heel is beautiful to look at while the embellished front will add sizzle to a pair of jeans or black-tie ballgown. The way it’s structured–note the high arch–means that any woman is guaranteed the illusion of a smaller foot.
I love this blue strapped bootie. They just look so “cool.”
