It’s always exciting to see your friends “make it” and my friend Summer Rej is doing just that at an incredible pace! A fellow Cornell alum, just last year Summer started her own jewelery line – Dauphines of New York (Dauphine is a royal title in French) – and she’s already been featured in Elle, People Magazine, Allure, and countless other magazines and online publications. True to her uptown NYC roots her designs are stocked at Bergdorf Goodman, Henri Bendel, and now Shopbop…so exciting! While I love her bold necklaces (which double as head pieces – see below), it’s her double duty slender accessories that I think are the stand-outs. They’re super easy to wear on your head (unlike the bigger pieces which may be intimating to some), or you can wrap them around your neck for an easy addition to your wardrobe. Plus during these tough winter months I always find myself gravitating towards lighter accessories (who wants to add even more bulk??), so the mixed metal/leather pieces are particularly useful for a textured pop.
