Marc by Marc Jacobs Save The Birds Lenny Day Bag

The Marc by MJ line is becoming like Miu Miu, better than the main line. The origami look is becoming the big thing, for everything especially clothes, but this bag is the perfect interpretation of the trend. You get that mutli-layered folded look but it isn’t overly complicated (unlike the AllSaints dress I tried to try on yesterday and couldn’t figure out which hole my arms should go through and where the strap that goes from my underarm to hip should wrap). The chain is more of an accessory than a good shoulder strap option, it can be done but kinda ruins it for me because it seems too thin to hold up the size of the bag. It’s cute and fun but also great for everyday. At Saks Fifth Avenue for $528.

  1. It DOES look more expensive than it is. That is a rare thing nowadays. I wonder if it hangs well in person. Beautiful color.

  2. I really want to check this bag out. I love the style of it. If possible, I would stick the thin chain inside the bag. It does nothing for the aesthetics. It looks like it is used to pull up two side zippers. Does anyone know the leather used? It looks like a glazed lambskin from the photo!

  3. What a gorgeous piece! I love the color and I think it will be a great piece that will add glamor to any outfit! I adore the chain detail but like you said I would never wear it as a strap. I wouldn’t trust it to hold what I carry on the daily as a Saks Style Consultant 😉 shoes + make-up bag + fashion mags + style kit = heavy fashion load

  4. This looks like a definite possibility for a bag that doesn’t bunch out under your arm when it’s full. And if the handle stays on your shoulder, I can live without using the chain. Chain is superfluous but forgivable.

  5. Like Linda, I would also like to know what leather is used in this bag. I love this bag and would get it but want to make sure that I won’t have same issues as the leather on the Hillier Hobo — it peels off!
