Oh Leighton, Leighton, Leighton. How far you’ve fallen recently on the fashion ladder. Your choices have had critics doing double takes. So you can imagine my–positive–double take in seeing you in not just some ordinary men’s tailored suit–but a Thom Browne suit! Turns out the “Gossip Girl” star was the first-ever celebrity to don a suit from Browne’s debut women’s collection. Specifically, she wore: a grey stepped twill wool suit, white cotton Oxford shirt and dark grey stepped twill wool necktie. Her finishing accents included purple Ferragamo satin pumps with double platform detail and nearly $40,000 worth of Bulgari white gold, diamond and pearl jewels. Back to the suit, I think Leighton wore it well–or as well as you can with hair that looked much too flat. It would’ve been cool to see her with an updo a la sexy secretary, but the long hair is a nice complement; I only wish she had spent a bit more time on it. Other than that, the masculine grey is flattering on her and the wide pant cuffs are a nice touch. She actually looks elongated with this suit on. I only wish the same could be said for the gowns she wears.
J’adore Leighton Meester, she takes chances and doesn’t follow trends. I mean who else can look that HOT in a SUIT?!
I also love that she is so different from her character on GG, you’d never see Blair in this or any of the avant-garde pieces Leighton chooses.
