You can always count on indie actress Carey Mulligan to wear the unexpected. At Sunday night’s British Independent Film Awards in London, the pixie-like actress complemented her Prabal Gurung dress and Roger Vivier accessories (shoes and clutch) with a delightful Cartier ring that, at first, is not what it appears to be. Set on an 18-karat pink gold base, the ring is accented with purple chalcedony, chrysoprases and black lacquer. But what makes this ring a true standpoint is that, given its double ring moniker, one side is entirely onyx while the other, diamond. In fact, when I first saw this ring, I thought it was two entirely different pieces! So while this versatile ring–wear it both day and night–is certainly pricy, think of it this way: you get two entirely different looks in one.
