When it comes to sponge applicators, BeautyBlender is my absolute favorite. Not only does it have a bright, easy-to-spot pink color (do you other Beauty Snobs waste as much time as I do rummaging through your makeup arsenal looking for a particular item!??), but it also has a unique elliptical shape to help blend in foundation lines and it helps me get to hard-to-reach areas like under my lashes and the sides of my nose without using my fingers. Don’t get me wrong, fingers can be a great “tool,” but you end up not only wasting foundation, but can end up with streaks. The only thing I don’t love about using the sponge is that it’s not disposable. I so wish they had a cheaper version that I could just throw away every day (because I’m pretty lazy when it comes to cleaning…sadly). Till then, Sephora has a set that comes with the sponge and the cleanser to clean it. Just “bounce” the BeautyBlender on your face to
blend in foundation/concealer/blush and then dampen the sponge with a little bit of water to get rid of excess makeup. I use the BlenderCleanser to properly clean the sponge after about 5 uses and I wouldn’t keep the sponge for more than 2-3 months if you use it on a regular basis.
Fingers waste foundation? This is the first I’m hearing of this. Where does it go?
Residue on multiple fingers! Especially for germa-phobes like myself who don’t apply foundation in one clean swoop but wash mid-way through application. Of course there’s residue on the sponge as well, but at least for me a lot less.
