Young&ng, designed by Michelle Ng, just launched this season with a line of headpieces and jewelry that walks the edge between art and fashion. There’s a sculptural feel to most of the designer’s pieces and her hair combs illustrate that particularly well. The relatively affordable collection (prices range from $330 to $975), is brimming with eye-catching pieces and it’s obvious that Ng was inspired by stained glass windows for much of her collection (just check out this bold cuff). While my favorite pieces are those done only in gold, feathers, beading, and glass stones have been incorporated into a few of the pieces.
We definitely saw lots of emphasis on hair accessories in the S/S 2011 shows (Carolina Herrera, Rodarte, Marc Jacobs…), so it seems like Ng picked just the right time to launch her line!
