Lipsticks are clearly all the rage in the beauty industry and it’s easy to see why. The simple tube is immediately relatable to women of all ages, backgrounds and socioeconomic levels–and they’re, for the most part, priced within reach. How else to explain H&M selling a Lanvin lipstick as part of their designer collaboration? M.A.C, one of the pioneers of unexpected and boundary pushing partnerships, is debuting a collaboration that I’m not all too surprised by: a limited edition lipstick called “Pink Friday” designed with Trinidadian hip-hop diva Nicki Minaj and named after her debut album of the same name. The color is a rich, creamy pink–very Nicki Minaj at first glance–and I think it’ll have universal appeal. “M.A.C’s Pink Nouveau was my favorite lipstick for years, but it’s all about Pink Friday!” the singer says. And to make things that much easier for shoppers–translation: no trips to the mall–M.A.C will be selling the lipstick for only four Fridays beginning November 26 at its Web site. Convenience and chic? You can’t ask for a better deal!
