kate spade spring 2011 is like ice cream.

Every spring is the same for me. I emerge from the long cold winter, squinting, Twilight-esq pale, and usually 5-10 pounds heavier than in the fall and I always think one thing will solve all of my winter woes: Color. That’s right. When spring shows its shining face I bee-line it for as much color as I can fit on my person. I am a color whore, and these punchy bags will help splash the life back into my wardrobe and put the pep back into my step.

Kate Spade’s Spring 2011collection takes classic lines and mates them with bold colors and designs resulting in ultra girly-cheeky bags. The extreme pink number has a Clueless feel to it circa 1995, but occasionally, bags like this, especially in spring, are exactly what you need to make an outfit pop. It is bright, loud and fun. But be forewarned; Bags with this much character should be worn carefully. Once in a while a bold splash of Pepto is awesome, but too much- and suddenly you’re Paris Hilton toting around a Chihuahua who would rather be in a Taco Bell wearing sunglasses and selling chalupas.

The seersucker patent Treesh is an easy sell. I am a sucker for seersucker and this one is just begging me to take it to the beach packed full of Mambos and Bud Light Limes. It is classic, simple and I could see myself getting a lot of use out of it.

In conclusion, this line is like ice cream; Sweet, fruity and irresistible, but eaten too much, it can make you sick.
