In the shoe category, Hermès footwear has never been known for being cutting edge. But while the spring collection designed by Pierre Hardy isn’t going to jump start any new trends, the ante has been upped plenty in the last few years. At the company’s showroom on Friday, I previewed these beauties: the contrasting saffron and blue suede is both gorgeous and rich. Look closely and you’ll see some trademark Hermès hardware affixed to the ankle strap and the toe bridge. I just think they’re a very pretty pair of shoes that most women–regardless of whether or not they have the funds to afford–will find appealing. Just be careful where you step in these shoes; yes, that heel is completely made of suede.
These remind me of Aerosoles. I’ll pass.
