Christian Louboutin Pigalle Flat

I can’t believe I’m typing this… but I don’t… like… these… shoes. GASP!

I love pretty much everything Louboutin does. Even if everyone else thinks it’s over the top or too much, I’m usually still on the front lines salivating over it.

But these… these just don’t do it for me. In theory I should love them; they are glittery, shimmery, sparkly and all things pretty. I just can’t get over the pointed toe and overall shape of the shoe.

For me, flats with pointed toes are difficult to pull off. They are a sharp statement and don’t always look great on everyone. Flats obviously don’t give you any extra boost, and adding a pointed toe makes me look like I’m wearing witch shoes. Yes, I love the Sanderson Sisters as much as the next girl and Hocus Pocus is in my top ten favorite movies of all time, but that doesn’t mean on any given day I’d like to dress like them.

My other confusion with these are, in some jobs (pretty much those who don’t work in fashion) wearing a spark-tastic shoe like this to the office would be very odd. They look like an evening shoe, but are flats. No one I know would wear a flat with a fancy dress. So where and for what would I slip these babies on for? My birthday? Perhaps. But that’s only (unfortunately) once a year (for a week) and that’s not much wear for the $575 price tag.

I’m curious to hear what you guys think of these? Would you wear them? If so, how and to where?

You can find these @ Barneys.
