I can’t believe I’m typing this… but I don’t… like… these… shoes. GASP!
I love pretty much everything Louboutin does. Even if everyone else thinks it’s over the top or too much, I’m usually still on the front lines salivating over it.
But these… these just don’t do it for me. In theory I should love them; they are glittery, shimmery, sparkly and all things pretty. I just can’t get over the pointed toe and overall shape of the shoe.
For me, flats with pointed toes are difficult to pull off. They are a sharp statement and don’t always look great on everyone. Flats obviously don’t give you any extra boost, and adding a pointed toe makes me look like I’m wearing witch shoes. Yes, I love the Sanderson Sisters as much as the next girl and Hocus Pocus is in my top ten favorite movies of all time, but that doesn’t mean on any given day I’d like to dress like them.
My other confusion with these are, in some jobs (pretty much those who don’t work in fashion) wearing a spark-tastic shoe like this to the office would be very odd. They look like an evening shoe, but are flats. No one I know would wear a flat with a fancy dress. So where and for what would I slip these babies on for? My birthday? Perhaps. But that’s only (unfortunately) once a year (for a week) and that’s not much wear for the $575 price tag.
I’m curious to hear what you guys think of these? Would you wear them? If so, how and to where?
You can find these @ Barneys.
I agree. Plus, pointed toe flats are soooo uncomfortable!
I am going to disagree with you. These are really cute. Jimmy Choo did several different types of these sparkly shoes and I fought serious temptation not to buy them all. Also, I work in a conservative work environment and sometimes wear sparkly shoes under pants. It is a little peak of fun!
I like them. I think they would give a casual outfit a little sparkle. Wear them with say skinny jeans shopping or a casual dress to lunch. They would also work with black pants for work or out at night when you don’t want to wear heels, say if you will have to stand most of the night etc.
Just because you are wearing a casual outfit does not mean you can’t sparkle!
I totally agree with you ladies about the sparkle being fun and wearable! I just think the shape is unflattering to me personally. I adore glittery shoes- especially around this time of year!
i LOVE them!!! i would wear them everywhere! i’m a social worker and can pretty much wear whatever i want to work so i would start there, then i would wear them with leggings and a sweater or jeans and a tee on the weekend. i have loved pointed toes ever since the 80’s when i lived in zimbabwe and my mother would get me pointy shoes when she went to london. i would wear them EVERYWHERE!!!! <3!!!
Sometimes I like rocking out the pointed toe because I have a (false) belief it makes my (short) legs look longer : ) Like the sparkle.
I’m so disappointed:( always said that I will wear any pair of Louboutins but can’t wear these:( ruined my day:-<
I absolutely adore Louboutin, love love love (almost) everything Christian and his team at the factory produces – almost. I partially agree with you here but I also think they’re a flat that needs to be tried on, because when I’ve seen the Pigalle plat in person (black patent with spikes – heaven) it looks a helluva lot better than they do in this picture!
I agree with you completely, I’m not fond of these either. and I learned my pointy toe lesson the hard way with a recent Chinese Laundry Boot purchase. I don’t know why I never learn with pointy toe shoes!
