Nicolas Ghesquière extended his idea of boyish individuality all the way down to his decidedly eclectic footwear. Surely the models must have breathed a collective sigh of relief upon discovering, at the show’s very early morning call time, that they would be sauntering through the halls of the Crillon Hotel in walkable shoes. Yes, walkable! Granted, there were some fringed heels with layered chains, but the majority of the footwear featured rubbed-soled sandals and masculine dress shoes. My favorite pair? The white saddle shoe-like design that Nicolas made ultramodern. Why am I craving women’s running shoes? Maybe because they have such a masculine aesthetic for spring, no? I love the sturdy leather finishing of the Balenciaga shoes–they’re like a cross between a monkstrap and a saddle. And check out the ankle boot with exposed sides: they’re a bit counterintuitive given that they’re technically supposed to protect your feet, but this is fashion after all!
Please tell me you are kidding.
These shoes are disgustingly hideous
LOVE these shoes!!
I dunno about the side openings though… kinda reminds me too much of crocs, which are way ugly. The shoes with side openings look great from the front though!
