Hoss Intropia Fall 2010

With everyone from Gilles Mendel of J. Mendel to Erdem of Erdem Moralioglu having designed ballet inspired collections for Spring 2011, it seems like the perfect time to put the spotlight on Spanish label Hoss Intropia which was founded over 15 years ago by ex-designer to the National Ballet of Spain, Paloma Vázquez de Castro.

All of the brand’s prints are designed in-house and the bead work and embroidery is done by hand. I love the chunky feel of the materials used for Fall 2010 and the mix of fitted and looser silhouettes. The brand somewhat reminds me of Ports 1961, because Hoss Intropia’s appeal lies in the minute detailing of their pieces. There’s also a timeless feel to most of the looks in the collection, especially given the neutral color palette used. For a list of boutiques and retailers that stock Hoss Intropia click here!
