Louboutin is a clear leader in shoe design but he is a follower when it comes to bags. This is a great bag that is right on-trend but a bit too right on top of the trend – not at all original or ground breaking. When I interviewed Christian Louboutin a while back, he was very adamant about not looking at or caring about trends – I guess he was talking specifically about shoes. I wish he would take the same approach on his bag collection instead of chasing trends. Not saying his shoes necessarily last beyond last season (I have many a dusty Loubies) but with the bags, he’s not even trying. Having said that, if you don’t care to use a bag for more than a few months, this Trophe shoulder bag is hip and stylish and you won’t have to worry about babying it for longevity. At Net-a-Porter for $1350.
now THIS is my cup of tea!
obviously i wont buy it because i gotta eat and pay rent….but there s gonna be some cute imitations soon enough!!
and no…it’s not original at all but who cares really?

I give up on Christian Louboutin’s handbag designers. This bag looks so ordinary and shouldn’t cost any more than $200. They should stop, regroup, and go the route of Tiffany’s. Take some notes. Take some notes.
