Lori Goldstein (wearing Lanvin dress and Jimmy Choo in this picture) is a world renown stylist and a Shoe Snob. She has styled photo shoots with Steven Meisel and Annie Leibovitz and is backstage doing her magic at runway shows for Versace, Vera Wang and Carolina Herrera, just to name a few. She has her own line on QVC called LOGO which is fantastically fun, with an amazing price point and sells out every season (she is slated to go back Aug. 9th). Every celebrity wants to work with her although she does not kiss and tell. What she did want to talk about was shoes, which to me is infinitely more exciting and interesting. She shared her thought with me on current trends and philosophized on our ridiculous obsession with shoes!
What do you think of the flat trend?
LOVE LOVE LOVE… I am a flat girl thru and thru. Love the men’s brogues and love a feminine flat.. shoes should not be one or the other. There is a purpose and time and place for both flats and heels.. would never want to have to make a choice between one or the other!
What are your Fall picks?
LOVE the Lanvin leopard boot…love the Rochas slip on with the chunky seventies heel in velvet…..love the Marc Jacobs boots…..love the Marsell ankle boots…..
Why do we love shoes so much?
SHOES MAKE US HAPPY! They’re like endorphins :). They’re beautiful perfect objects…they have nothing to do with how we feel that day.. “I feel fat, bloated, hate my hair”… doesn’t matter. Our shoes are there for us like little jewels, little works of art.
What are some of your favorite designers?
Love my Lanvins..LIVE FOR ALAIAS, Marsell was the best kept secret, now Barneys carries them, been obsessed with my Jimmy Choos the last few seasons, WHO KNEW!:). ALWAYS love me my Chanels, perfect heels, so chic, so cool. Devi Kroell made a beautiful wickedly pointed perfectly pythoned boot and shoe. CONVERSE CONVERSE CONVERSE……. Prada and Miu Miu are fricking jewels….. Marni rules!
