For her second go-around designing a collection for Longchamp, it appears that Kate Moss went for a more sophisticated route. The silhouettes seem a bit more suited for night (although there are day options to be had), the color palette is more grown up and the hardware is more jewel like than child’s play. That said, there were a few pieces that stood for me. The cross body bag, as part of the Neo Pure collection, is both elegant and functional. Available in two sizes, it’s the perfect synergy of weekend play with workday utility (although I bet it’s more likely to be spotted out at a trendy restaurant). As for the ladylike Soho clutch? It has a Carla Bruni-Sarkozy appeal to it (minus the four-figure price tag). I think it’ll appeal to women both young and old; I love it in this Bordeaux color. The lambskin looks rich and inviting and the metal trimming looks delicate (hopefully only in appearance).
Neo Pure Cross Body (Large: $760, Small: $490); Soho Clutch, $490, available at Longchamp boutiques and at www.longchamp.com
Both are a bit plain and the fabrics don’t appeal to me.
Wow I am truly surprised that Kate Moss would design such boring bags. She always looks great but these…….
Everyone is so enamored with Kate Moss’s style. I don’t get it. Anyway, I digress. None of the bags that she has come out with fit her style or aesthetic. This is very puzzling that someone with such an eclectic style would put her name on these dull, unexciting, and boring handbags. The one on the right actually looks cheap.
Meh.
